Thank you for raising this issue. Sentinel-2 L2A images are Bottom Of Atmosphere reflectance images derived from the associated L1C products.
The L2A products are generated by ESA’s ground segment as 100x100 km2 tiles (see this page). Given the large volume of tiles to be processed (approximately 2.5TB/day), it can happen that the L1C to L2A processing fails from time to time.
At Sentinel Hub we distribute the data, but are not involved in the production phase. I would suggest you contact Copernicus support with this issue: eosupport@copernicus.esa.int.
Hi, I wanted to do a follow-up on the topic.
So I contacted the ESA support and they checked in their archives and they have both the L1C and L2A data available for the date (19.06.2019) and tile.
I double-checked and downloaded the L2A data from the ESA Sci Hub and the scene is complete.
Then I went back to EO Browser and there I discovered that I can only access the L1C data, but cannot access or download the L2A data.
In my application case, I can circumvent the missing L2A data, so the lack of the data is not critical, but maybe this is relevant for somebody else
This is the GeoJSON of the field I tried to download data for:
Thank you for getting back to us with the response from ESA support. If the data is made available by ESA and is not in our services, then it concerns us!
We have now updated our systems and the missing tile is available in Sentinel Hub (you might have to refresh your cache to see it).
