Sentinel Hub was never free. There was always a free 30-days trial, and it is still there.
For free services you might check Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem, which does offer similar functionality, limited to some levels:
In fact, I usually create a 30-day free account in Dashboard to do my task similar to this (How To: Land-Use-Land-Cover Prediction for Slovenia). Today, I created a new account and I was told that it has already expired.
